Publish your clone with one click on Pro, and share its link with your first users.

In-depth guide

What goes into a Jira clone built with Fabricate

A Jira clone is an issue tracker: work is written down as issues, ranked in a backlog, planned into sprints and moved across a board until it is done. Built with Fabricate, it is one web app made from your description, with its own database and a sign-in for your team.

Issues and planning: types, priorities, assignees and your own statuses, with rules for who may move an issue to each one. A backlog you rank by dragging, sprints with dates, a board of the current sprint, saved filters and charts worked out from your issues.

People: team members sign in with roles, and clients can sign in to report bugs and follow only their own project. Ask for live updates, and a change one person saves appears on teammates' open screens.

What is not built in: email and push notifications, links to commits and pull requests, posting to Slack, calendar sync, and phone apps from the App Store or Google Play. Everyone uses the tracker in a phone or computer browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from just using Jira?
Jira is ready to use, with integrations for many tools. A tracker built with Fabricate is your own web app, made from your description, with only the fields, statuses and screens your team uses and its own database. It does not have Jira's integrations, phone apps or email notifications.
Can it have sprints and a backlog?
Yes. Ask for a backlog you rank by dragging, sprints with start and end dates, and a board of the current sprint. Charts such as issues done per sprint are worked out from your issues.
Can clients report bugs?
Yes, if you ask for it: a form that adds an issue, open to anyone or only to clients who sign in, and a client view that shows only their own project. Attached photos can be shown on the issue; other documents stay private, for you to open in Fabricate.
Can I bring my issues over from Jira?
Yes, through CSV: export your issues from Jira as a CSV file and ask for an import page that adds them to the app's own database. Syncing with Jira is not built in.
Does it send notifications?
Inside the app: a list of the issues assigned to each person and what changed since they last looked. Ask for live updates and new messages and posts appear on open screens without a refresh, over a connection to the app's own server. Email and push notifications are not built in.
Can I see and change the code?
On Pro and Max, you can see, edit and download the code, or send it to GitHub.
