Build an online ordering app for your business

You can build an online ordering app without writing code: describe what you sell, the choices each item has and how customers get their order, and Fabricate builds a working web app where customers place an order without an account, and only you, or staff you invite, sign in to see every order and move it from new to ready.

Every order is saved in the app's own database, the page works on phones, and publishing gives it a live link to share. Place a few test orders yourself first, then ask for changes in the same chat.

In-depth guide

What an ordering app built with Fabricate includes

Many small businesses take orders by phone, text and direct message, then copy them onto paper: cake makers, caterers, cafes taking pre-orders, florists and makers who sell to order. A full online store is more than they need, and it comes with its own checkout, product catalogue and monthly fee. An ordering app built with Fabricate starts from your own description of what you sell and how you hand it over, and changes when you ask for a change in the chat.

The order form: list your products and their prices, the options a customer chooses, such as size, flavour or quantity, and a note field for anything else. Ask for a collection date and time, a delivery address, or both, and say which days you take orders for.

The order list: you, and staff you invite, see every order with its total, newest first or by the day it is due, and move each one from new to confirmed, ready and collected. Ask for a view of today's orders, a list of what to make tomorrow, or a search by customer name or phone number.

What is not built in: the app does not take card payments, send text messages or sync with a till, Shopify or a delivery platform. Once published, it emails you each new order, up to a daily limit, and on Pro and Max you can turn on a confirmation email to the customer who ordered. If you need online payment, the AI can write Stripe code into the app for you to connect with your own keys.

An example description

Change it to match your business. The buttons on this page open the builder with this description filled in, and nothing is built until you choose to build it.

Fabricate prompt
An ordering website for my bakery. Customers choose cakes and pastries from a menu with prices, pick options such as size and flavour, add a message for the cake and choose a collection date and time from Tuesday to Saturday. They leave their name, phone number and email. No account needed to order. Only I can sign in, and I see every order with its total, sorted by collection date, and mark each one as new, confirmed, ready or collected. Make it easy to use on a phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I build an ordering app without coding?
Yes. Describe what you sell, the options each item has and how customers get their order, and Fabricate builds the ordering app and shows it working in a preview. To change something, you ask in the chat. There is no code to write or read.
Can customers order without an account?
Yes, if you ask for it. Customers fill in the order form and leave their contact details, and only you, or staff you invite, sign in to see the orders. Place a few test orders yourself before you share the link.
Will I know when an order comes in?
Yes, once the app is published: every order a customer sends through it is kept under Responses in Fabricate, and you get an email for each one, up to a daily limit. On Pro and Max, you can also turn on a confirmation email to the customer who ordered, again up to a daily limit. The app does not send text messages.
Can customers pay online?
Not built in: Fabricate does not take card payments for you. If you ask for payments, the AI can write Stripe code into your app, and you add your own Stripe keys, which only the published app receives. Many small businesses take payment at collection or send a payment link themselves.
Does it connect to my till or online store?
No. The ordering app keeps its own orders in its own database and does not sync with a point-of-sale system, Shopify or a delivery platform.
Who can see the orders?
Only the people you choose, if you ask for that when you describe the app: say that only you can sign in, or that staff join with an invite code you give them. A sign-in that anyone can register for does not keep customer names, phone numbers and addresses private. Once the app is published, anyone with the link can open it, so keep those details behind that owner or invite-only sign-in. On Pro and Max you can make the whole app private.
Will my test orders show up in the live app?
No. Publishing gives the live app a fresh database of its own, so the test entries you made in the preview stay behind.
What does it cost?
You can start on Free, which includes 60 credits a month and needs no card. A whole new app usually takes about 20 to 35 credits and a small change about 3 to 10 credits. Current plans are on the pricing page.
