Buyer's guideUpdated
Three tools compared on what a small business needs to keep track of stock: items and locations, low-stock lists, a free start, limits and the price.
Fabricate is ours, so every other pick says where it beats Fabricate, and each tool's price comes with the page we read it on.
Best for stock tracked your way
Describe what you stock in plain words. Fabricate builds the inventory app, its records and the staff sign-in, and you change it by asking.
Best free plan for a few items
Inventory tracking priced by items and users.
Best for stock and orders together
Zoho's inventory and order management, priced by orders a month.
What each one is built around, its free plan, what it caps and the cheapest paid plan.
Each tool's cheapest paid plan as its own pricing page showed it on October 28, 2026, as the page bills it. Fabricate's figures come from our live plans.
We compared the three tools on what a small business needs to keep track of stock: items and locations, low stock, a free start, shop and till sync, and the price. For the other two we read their pricing pages on October 28, 2026, and each one's section lists the pages we read. We did not sign up for them for this guide.
Fabricate is ours. It comes first here because it builds the inventory app around the business's own products and locations, and where another tool is the better pick, its section says so.
Can it keep what you stock, where it is and how many?
Does it show what is running low?
Is there a free plan, and what are its limits?
Does it connect to your online shop or till?
What does the cheapest paid plan cost, and what does it cap?
Best for: Stock tracked the way your business works
Describe what you stock, where it is kept and who updates it, and Fabricate builds an inventory app: your products, stock levels by location, a list of what is running low, stock in and out with a log of every change, and suppliers. Staff sign in with an invite code you give them, and a handheld barcode scanner that types into a field works with a search box. Syncing with an online shop or a till, phone camera scanning and low-stock emails are not built in. Building and previewing are free; publishing is on Pro and Max.

Build free. No card needed.
For a small business that wants stock tracked its own way, such as a workshop, a cafe or a shop with a back room, Fabricate is our pick, and we make it. You describe what you stock and where in plain words, and the app has no cap on items or on the staff who sign in. Putting the app online is on Pro and Max.
Sortly comes second for a few items on a free plan, and Zoho Inventory for stock and orders in one ready-made tool.

About this guide
Written by the Fabricate team. Fabricate is our product, so the guide marks it, and each pick, ours or not, says who it suits best.
Each tool's section lists the pages we read about it and the day we read them. We compared the tools from their own pricing pages and documentation, not by signing up for them. Spotted something out of date? Write to info@fabricate.build.
