Base44 pricing in 2026, explained

Every Base44 plan, what its two kinds of credits buy, and what one app costs to build and keep running, with Fabricate's prices beside them.

Base44 has a free plan with 25 message credits a month, and paid plans from $20 a month for Starter to $200 for Elite, 20% less billed yearly. It bills from two balances: message credits for building, and integration credits for what your live app does.

How Base44 counts credits

Base44 bills from two balances. Message credits pay for building: each message to its AI chat costs what the work behind it costs, worked out after it runs. By Base44's own estimates a simple visual or text change uses about 0.5 credits, a small feature about 1, a complex module about 2, and an app-wide change 3 to 4. Edits you make by hand in the editor are free, and Discuss mode, for questions, uses about 0.3 credits a message.

Integration credits pay for what your app does once people use it: about 1 credit for each email it sends (about 2 from your own domain), each image it makes, each file upload and each AI call on the automatic model; from about 3 for each message to an AI agent inside the app; and about 1 for every 100 backend function runs. Calls to an outside service with your own API key use none.

Credits reset each month on the day you subscribed, and unused ones expire; on Free you can use at most 5 a day. Moving up from one monthly plan to a bigger one mid-month carries unused credits over for one more cycle. Base44's billing pages list no top-up packs: when a balance runs out, you wait for the reset or move up a plan.

What one app costs on Fabricate

Most of a month's credits go on changes, not the first build. Here is an example month on one app, drawn against Pro's 350 credits, and a way to price your own.

One exception: on Pro and Max, when your app uses AI for its visitors, answering them or reading documents they upload, each use is paid from your credits. Serving the app itself never is.

Costs people miss

The plan price is the easy part. These four decide what a month really comes to.

  • Running out mid-month

    • Base44Building pauses until your monthly reset unless you move up a plan, since Base44's billing pages list no top-ups. Without integration credits, the emails, AI calls and other built-in services your app uses fail, and its users see a generic error.

    • FabricateOn Pro and Max, extra credits start at $10 for 100 and never expire, and apps on a paid plan stay online when credits run out.

  • Your own domain

    • Base44From Starter at $20 a month, with the certificate set up for you. Yearly plans include a domain free for the first year.

    • FabricatePro connects up to 5 domains you own and Max up to 20, with the secure padlock set up for you.

  • Traffic to the live app

    • Base44Visits aren't billed as such, but the built-in services a live app uses are: emails, images, file uploads, AI calls, and backend functions at about 1 credit per 100 runs, all from integration credits.

    • FabricateNot billed. Serving your published app never touches your credits.

  • AI inside your app

    • Base44Each AI call your app makes through Base44 uses integration credits: about 1 on the automatic model, from about 3 on a model you pick, and from about 3 a message for an AI agent in the app.

    • FabricateOn Pro and Max, each AI answer your app gives and each document it reads is paid from your credits, and "Where your credits went" lists them for each app.

When Base44 is the better buy

Base44's Free plan keeps up to 5 apps online at base44.app addresses, with its badge. On Fabricate, Free builds and previews, and going live needs Pro. From Builder, Base44 also packages an app for the App Store and Google Play, which Fabricate doesn't do.

Its credits can go further on small edits, too. By Base44's own estimates a small feature uses about 1 message credit, so Starter's 100 credits a month may cover more small changes than Fabricate's Pro, where a change uses about 9 credits at the median and 350 credits cover about 40. If your app sends a lot of email or calls AI often, add its integration credits to the sum. We make Fabricate, so we say this part plainly.

Questions people ask

Base44's answers come from its own pages, read October 22, 2026. Fabricate's come from our live plans.

Is Base44 free?
Yes, to start. Base44's Free plan costs $0 and includes 25 message credits a month (at most 5 a day) and 100 integration credits, for up to 5 apps with the Base44 badge. Paid plans start at $20 a month for Starter, or $16 a month billed yearly.
How much does Base44 cost?
Starter is $20 a month, Builder $50, Pro $100 and Elite $200, billed monthly; billed yearly, they cost $16, $40, $80 and $160 a month. Elite also comes in larger sizes, and Business, in six sizes, adds single sign-on and 30-day backups. Outside services you connect, such as Stripe or OpenAI, bill you directly.
Does Base44 have a free trial?
Base44's pricing page lists a Free plan rather than a trial: $0 a month, with 25 message credits (at most 5 a day) and 100 integration credits, for up to 5 apps. Students and teachers can get 50% off Starter or Builder with a school email address.
What are integration credits in Base44?
They pay for what your live app does with Base44's built-in services: about 1 credit for each email, image, file upload or AI call on the automatic model, from about 3 for each message to an AI agent in the app, and about 1 for every 100 backend function runs. Calls to an outside service with your own API key use none. Plans include from 100 a month on Free to 50,000 on Elite's first size.
What happens when Base44 credits run out?
Actions that use credits pause until your monthly reset, or you can move up a plan. Without message credits you can't send new messages to the AI chat. Without integration credits, actions that need them fail, and people using your app see a generic error.
Do Base44 credits roll over?
No. Credits reset each month on the day you subscribed, and unused ones expire. The one exception: moving up from one monthly plan to a bigger one mid-month carries your unused credits over for one more cycle.
What happens when Fabricate credits run out?
Nothing is lost: your apps stay in your account, and apps on a paid plan stay online. You can upgrade, or wait until your credits refill next month. On Pro and Max you can also buy extra credits, which never expire: 100 for $10, 300 for $27, 600 for $51, 1,000 for $80, 2,500 for $185, 5,000 for $350 or 10,000 for $650.
Is there a cheaper Base44 alternative?
It depends on what you build. Base44 Starter costs $20 a month, the same as Emergent Standard and Replit Core, and $5 less than Lovable Pro, Bolt.new Pro and Fabricate Pro. How far each tool's credits go on your app decides what a month costs, so compare what a month buys, not the price on the plan.
