Emergent pricing in 2026, explained

Every Emergent plan, what its credits pay for, and what one app costs to build and keep published, with Fabricate's prices beside them.

How Emergent counts credits

Everything on Emergent draws on one balance: writing code, the automated tests its agents run, publishing, calls to other services, scheduled jobs, heavy database work, and AI calls your app makes through Emergent's Universal LLM Key. One prompt can use anything from a handful of credits for a small change to hundreds for a full feature with tests, and a large build can use thousands. Emergent shows an estimate before large changes and lets you set a limit per prompt; Maxx mode, which plans more thoroughly, uses significantly more.

Publishing is a fixed monthly fee in credits for each published app, by the size of machine it runs on: Starter 50 credits a month (0.05 vCPU and 200 MB of memory), Launch 125, Grow 225, Scale 450 and Elite 1,100 (4 vCPU and 16 GB). Emergent says Starter is not suitable for production apps under meaningful load. Republishing and rolling back are free, but publishing as a new app starts a new fee.

Plan credits refill to your plan's amount at each renewal and don't roll over. Top-ups run from 250 credits for $50 to 10,000 for $2,000; they never expire, aren't refundable, and are spent after your expiring credits.

What one app costs on Fabricate

Most of a month's credits go on changes, not the first build. Here is an example month on one app, drawn against Pro's 350 credits, and a way to price your own.

One exception: on Pro and Max, when your app uses AI for its visitors, answering them or reading documents they upload, each use is paid from your credits. Serving the app itself never is.

Costs people miss

The plan price is the easy part. These four decide what a month really comes to.

  • Running out mid-month

    • EmergentBuilding and publishing pause at zero until you add credits. A balance under 50 at renewal may go negative to finish a build, and if it stays negative, Emergent says a published app may be taken down until you top up.

    • FabricateOn Pro and Max, extra credits start at $10 for 100 and never expire, and apps on a paid plan stay online when credits run out.

  • Your own domain

    • EmergentOn Standard and Pro, with the certificate set up for you. Free can't publish to production.

    • FabricatePro connects up to 5 domains you own and Max up to 20, with the secure padlock set up for you.

  • Traffic to the live app

    • EmergentEach published app pays a fixed monthly fee in credits by machine size, from 50 on Starter to 1,100 on Elite. One app on Launch, at 125, uses more than Standard's 100 monthly credits.

    • FabricateNot billed. Serving your published app never touches your credits.

  • AI inside your app

    • EmergentAI calls your app makes through Emergent's Universal LLM Key are billed from your credits, at Emergent's per-token rates.

    • FabricateOn Pro and Max, each AI answer your app gives and each document it reads is paid from your credits, and "Where your credits went" lists them for each app.

When Emergent is the better buy

Emergent builds phone apps as well as web apps, and its Standard plan costs $5 a month less than Fabricate's Pro. Fabricate builds web apps that work in any browser, phones included, and doesn't publish to the App Store or Google Play, so if you want a phone app rather than a web app, Emergent is the closer fit.

Pro adds a 1M-token context window and custom AI agents, for large projects where you want more control over the agent. We make Fabricate, so we say this part plainly.

Questions people ask

Emergent's answers come from its own pages, read October 22, 2026. Fabricate's come from our live plans.

Is Emergent free?
Emergent has a Free plan at $0 with 10 credits: its pricing page calls them monthly, and its help center says they come on your first day. Free builds and tests in the workspace but can't publish to production (some Free users qualify for a free frontend-only app) or use your own domain. Paid plans start at $20 a month.
How much does Emergent cost?
Standard costs $20 a month ($17 billed yearly) for 100 credits, and Pro $200 a month ($167 billed yearly) for 750. Each published app also pays a monthly fee in credits, from 50 to 1,100 by machine size, and top-ups start at 250 credits for $50.
How do Emergent credits work?
One balance pays for everything: code generation, tests, publishing, connections and scheduled jobs, heavy database work, and AI calls your app makes through the Universal LLM Key. A small change can cost a handful of credits and a full feature with tests hundreds. Plan credits refill each month and don't roll over; top-ups never expire.
How much does it cost to publish an app on Emergent?
Each published app runs on a tier billed as a fixed monthly fee in credits: Starter 50, Launch 125, Grow 225, Scale 450 and Elite 1,100. You need at least 50 credits to start one, and Emergent says Starter is not suitable for production apps under meaningful load. Republishing and rolling back are free.
What happens when Emergent credits run out?
Building and publishing pause at zero until you add credits, and code already written is kept. If your balance is under 50 at renewal it may go negative to finish a build; if it stays negative, Emergent says your published app may be taken down until you recharge.
Do Emergent credits roll over?
Plan credits don't: they refill to your plan's amount at each renewal. Top-up credits never expire, and Emergent spends expiring credits first.
What happens when Fabricate credits run out?
Nothing is lost: your apps stay in your account, and apps on a paid plan stay online. You can upgrade, or wait until your credits refill next month. On Pro and Max you can also buy extra credits, which never expire: 100 for $10, 300 for $27, 600 for $51, 1,000 for $80, 2,500 for $185, 5,000 for $350 or 10,000 for $650.
Is there a cheaper Emergent alternative?
It depends on what you build. Emergent Standard costs $20 a month, the same as Base44 Starter and Replit Core, and $5 less than Lovable Pro, Bolt.new Pro and Fabricate Pro. How far each tool's credits go on your app decides what a month costs, so compare what a month buys, not the price on the plan.
