Buyer's guideUpdated
Five tools compared on what you need from a form: a free start, how many answers it takes, payments, and what happens to the answers.
Fabricate is ours, so every other pick says where it beats Fabricate, and each tool's price comes with the page we read it on.
Also good: Typeform for surveys, Fillout for a team on one account.
Best for forms that turn into work
Describe the form and what happens next in plain words. Fabricate builds the form, the list behind it and the sign-in, and you change it by asking.
Best free plan
A form builder whose free plan has unlimited forms and submissions within fair use, with file uploads up to 10 MB.
Best for templates and widgets
Online forms with payments and widgets.
What each one is built around, its free plan, payments and the cheapest paid plan.
Each tool's cheapest paid plan as its own pricing page showed it on October 26, 2026: billed monthly where the page offers it. Fabricate's figures come from our live plans.
We compared the five tools on what you need from a form: a free start, what happens to the answers, payments, branding and the price. For the other four we read their pricing pages on October 26, 2026, and each one's section lists the pages we read. We did not sign up for them for this guide.
Fabricate is ours. It comes first here because it builds the form together with the app that handles what comes in, and where another tool is the better pick, its section says so.
Is there a free plan, and how many forms and answers does it take?
Do answers land in a list you can work through?
Can the form take a card payment?
Does the free form carry the tool's name?
What does the cheapest paid plan cost?
Best for: Forms whose answers become work
Describe the form and what you do with it, and Fabricate builds the form and the app behind it: a request, booking or order form anyone can fill in without an account, and a list behind your own sign-in where you work through what comes in. Once published, every submission is kept under Responses in Fabricate and emailed to you, up to a daily limit. Building and previewing are free; publishing is on Pro and Max.

Build free. No card needed.
For a form whose answers turn into work, such as quote requests, orders or bookings, Fabricate is our pick, and we make it. You describe the form and what you do with each answer, and you get the form and a list behind your own sign-in to work through. Putting it online is on Pro and Max.

About this guide
Written by the Fabricate team. Fabricate is our product, so the guide marks it, and each pick, ours or not, says who it suits best.
Each tool's section lists the pages we read about it and the day we read them. We compared the tools from their own pricing pages and documentation, not by signing up for them. Spotted something out of date? Write to info@fabricate.build.
